Getting Ready For Our 4th Season

All of our artists have been busy painting and creating for our 2011 season. Catherine, Linda, Bill, Mary Lyn, Susan, Amelia, and Len are returning and we have some new artists joining us as well. I will write more about our new members in my next post.
This year we will also have a wall designated for a featured artist, who will exhibit for part of our season. The featured artists will change throughout our season. Watch for my next post for a list of the Featured Artists and when they will exhibit.
We will gather at the gallery on the 6th of May to hang our work so we are ready to be part of the 2011 Grand Bend Studio Tour, which takes place the following weekend.

Getting Ready For A New Season

The artists of Sunset Arts are busy painting for a new season! The gallery will have a fresh coat of paint too and a few changes.  A new website is planned and we will soon be meeting to discuss plans for 2011! There will be many returning artists and some new ones as well. We are all looking forward to seeing returning visitors, friends and customers and greeting new ones too.

We are now closed until next Spring. It has been a very good season and we would like to thank all of you who dropped by the gallery. Thank you too to those of you who purchased our work. We hope you are enjoying your purchase.

Art Show: JASS 2010 Museum London

Two of the artists from Sunset Arts, Sue Shurish and Susan Garrington, have had work juried into the JASS show at Museum London.

Gallery Painting Group Show and Sale 2010

Several artists from Sunset Arts are members of The Gallery Painting Group. The Group has been busy all season painting and the results of their efforts can be seen at the annual show.

Sunset Arts artist, Catherine Weber, has had the painting, Dancing Heads, juried into the Pastel Artist Canada Show that runs from Sept.30 to Oct.17 at the Nelson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke (Toronto). Congratulations, Catherine!

A Day At The Gallery

Yesterday was my turn to work at the gallery. With the help of my husband, Brian, I was able to hang some new work. The weather was perfect and I saw lots of families making their way to the beach. The boaters took advantage of the great day too and many fabulous boats passed by on the  river behind the gallery. I had the opportunity to meet many friendly people and to catch up with Theresa Marie, from the River Road Gallery next door. In between visitors to the gallery, I worked on a small watercolour painting which is below.
